My Daybook October 14,

Outside My Door...The cold is coming. I have enjoyed the warmer months this summer so much, so it's sad to see them go. But I also look forward to the cold months and the changing of the seasons.

I Am Grateful For...a week off, pets and little ones.

I Am Reading... A Wilder Life, To Say Nothing of the Dog, the 10 Habits of Happy Mothers, Calico Captive, Goerge Washington, by Harness.

I Am Pondering...what is the use of making plans?

I Am Creating...Hmmm, yarn, a happy goldfish eco-system, soup in the crockpot, and ...plans.

My Children are.... downstairs making tea and outside playing.

Towards life in Christ... I am so tempted to leave this out, which just about sums it up...

A Humble thing I learned this week...
Goldfish die when you have them over crowded, and under tanked and overfed. And let me say- under researched. How shocking it is, you can't just stick goldfish in aquarium and expect them to live. They actually grow, they produce more waste than the tank can handle, and they die, poor babies. I now know enough to write a manual on gold fish care and I have enough equipment to supply a pet store. We are currently looking for a 55 gallon tank and sturdy stand for it. RIP,  little goldfish!

Towards Simplicity: I cut down on the outside trips. Running around every day,  is not for us. We seem to have more stress with each other, and get less done during the day. It's also cheaper to do less outside the house during the week, less gas and less wear and tear on the vehicle. I like our days to be centered on just getting our schoolwork done, and taking care of the necessities of life. This gives us time to create things, appreciate books, and go outside to be in nature. I'm finally getting most of the stuff done with the kids. ( I still have trouble with finding spelling time. oops.) The last couple of weeks have been nice.
