My Day Book March 9, 2011 Ash Wednesday
Outside My Door...It's cold and it isn't spring yet, but every once and a while I hear the voice of a returning bird sing. Right now we have some snow steadily drifting down.
I Am Listening To...Gregorian chant, the sounds of breakfast and waking up.
I Am Wearing...Black pants, purple shirt and a sweater vest.
I Am Grateful For...Friends and family, for little boys, toddlers that say "maaa-maaa!" so cutely, husband that work, crafts to do, children to teach, books to read, a lovely home and a God who loves me.
I Am Reading...Marriage: a Path to Sanctity, Writing Dialogue, Sally Clarkson's Heart of the Home, the Book of Psalms
I Am Pondering...Pride. My own, of course. Quibbles about books, the language people choose to use, Lenten music, motivation for students, family members who choose not to communicate with me any more, and some more pride. I think that pretty much sums it up.
I Am Creating...Kool-aid dyed yarn, spun on my spindolyn. Hopefully a video about it, too. (someday, not promising.)
My Children are....waiting for friends to come for Art today.
Towards life in Christ...participating in Lent. Holy Mass in the evening.
I Am Hoping and Praying...for family and friends.
From the Kitchen...My oldest is learning to make bread.
One of my Favorite Things...Caribou Coffee, Organic Ethiopian, from Finlay. Best coffee ever.
I am teaching....(sigh...) as much as I can, but our lesson plans took a nose dive a few weeks ago, and we are still trying to pull out of it before we crash. We are getting more reading time in lately.
Towards Simplicity: Well, I got one long curtain and one short curtain. So what are the odds that pottery barn will send me 2 short curtains or two long curtains when I go to order again? I'm planning to call them and order over the phone and tell them what happened...
We are staying on our chore schedule!
